Remedial works are commonly required after an EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Report).
By law your business must have an EICR carried out by a qualified electrician every 5 years. Hawtin Electrical are based in Oxford and serve the surrounding areas. Our commercial electrical services include EICR’s and follow up remedial works. If your commercial premises does require some remedial work, the level of urgency will be outlined within the report provided by your electrician. This urgency will be translated into codes (C), these are as follows:
- C1: Danger present, urgent remedial works required.
- C2: Potentially dangerous, remedial works required.
- C3: Improvement recommended.
- FI (Further investigation): Further testing is required to identify how serious the fault is and what, if any remedial works are needed.
If your report concludes that either a C1, C2 or FI codes are present, you will need to arrange remedial works as soon as possible. Here at Hawtin Electrical we will always priorotise urgent remedial works to keep your business operating efficiently and safely. As business owners ourselves we are familiar with the stress of running a business, this is why we will always properly outline everything you need to know including what remedial works are required, how long these will take, disruption levels and of course the costs these will occur.

Electrical remedial works following an EICR📋
Under the Electricity at work regulation 1989, remedial works must be completed as soon as possible to protect your employees and visitors. Once your remedial works have been completed, your electrician will once again provide you with either an EICR or a Minor Works Certificate. These documents are proof that your commercial property is deemed safe and all installations within are fully compliant with electrical safety standards. You should keep all of these documents safe and easily accessible just in case you need to provide evidence of this to anyone of authority.
